Department of Communities Landscape Guidelines
Grafted Studio partnered with Realm Studio to develop a Landscape Design Guidelines to enhance outcomes for landscapes within single residential, grouped housing, and multi-residential projects across Perth and Western Australia (WA).
The guidelines provide a simple and coherent document that provides the department and its building partners with clear direction and primary controls to design, construct, and maintain landscapes.
The guidelines outline the integration of landscape with built form for enhanced presentation, maintenance, safety, and useability for residents. The guidelines also include requirements for tree planting and provision of shade, connection to nature, universal accessibility, and opportunities for residents to socialise and recreate in outdoor spaces.
